Jennifer Gerstman, a nurse at Veterinary Regional Referral Hospital’s Decatur facility has been selected as the Employee of the Quarter for the 4th quarter of 2011.
Nominated by one of the staff doctors, Jennifer was cited for her caring attitude not only to patients but to fellow employees.
Jennifer is always upbeat and takes each encounter with a guest as an opportunity to represent the VRRH Mission Statement as it is meant to be.
Some of Jennifer’s responsibilities include checking in patients who are presented for surgery by gathering vital signs, weight and other pertinent information. She also preps patients for surgery and participates in the patients recovery immediately following surgery.
Jennifer began work with VRRH in September of 2007. The award was presented at the annual VRRH employee Christmas party held on December 5th.

Sara Adams, a Client Services Representative at Veterinary Regional Referral Hospital’s Decatur facility has been selected as the Employee of the Quarter for the 3rd quarter of 2011.
Sara has consistently displayed a compassionate and caring attitude not only toward the VRRH clients and patients, but toward her fellow workers as well.
She is always upbeat and takes each encounter with a guest as an opportunity to represent the VRRH Mission Statement as it is meant to be.
Her willingness to take on any and all tasks with a radiant smile sets an example for others to follow.
Sara is expecting her first child and even during her pregnancy she has never faltered in going the extra mile in displaying outstanding customer service techniques and working additional hours when asked.
Sara is a true example of providing compassionate and quality service to clients and everyone she comes in contact with.

Quarter for the second quarter of 2011.
Patty joined the VRRH team upon the opening of the clinic in January 2011. From the very beginning it was evident she would be a star employee. Patty immediately displayed a willingness to do whatever was necessary to make the new facility a success. Whenever she was asked to work a different schedule or take on additional responsibilities her reply was always “Whatever you need me to do I’ll be happy to do.”
According to clinic supervisor Leah Fox, Patty is a “One in a million type of employee. She understands and displays superior customer service both with clients and fellow employees and always reports for work with a smile. No task is too big or too small for her to undertake.”
VRRH is proud to have Patty as a frontline employee who is making a difference in the lives of pets and pet owners in the Shoals area.

Regional Referral Hospital for nearly 5 years and was selected for this award for a variety of reasons:
- TREMENDOUS customer service performance both with clients and fellow employees.

VRRH is fortunate to have a person of Rhoda’s caliber on the front lines when it comes to serving clients and assisting other staff members. VRRH Opens Emergency Clinic In Florence, Alabama
Veterinary Regional Referral Hospital (VRRH) officially opened its second after-hours emergency clinic on January 26th, 2011.
The clinic is located at 1421 North Pine Street in Florence, Alabama and serves the greater Shoals area including northwest Alabama, northeastern Mississippi and southwest Tennessee.
According to Dr. Michael Newman, president of VRRH, “We are extremely pleased to offer after-hours emergency care in support of the veterinarians who practice in the Shoals region. It was because of their request that we opened the clinic located at 1421 North Pine Street in Florence.”
VRRH opened its first emergency clinic in Decatur a little over three years ago in conjunction with its specialty surgical referral services.
The hours of operation for both emergency clinics are 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday thru Thursday, and 24-hours beginning Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. thru Monday morning at 7:00 a.m.
